Welcome to the latest issue of WWM. We start with a report by Lauk Woltring from the Netherlands about young men and violence. Lauk's article describes a practical approach to an issue that practitioners are increasingly showing interest in. We'd like to hear more from anyone pursuing this kind of work with young and adult men. There has been a renewed interest in sex education with boys following the launch of "Let's Hear It For The Boys" from the Sex Education Forum (see next issue for a review). One of the contributors, Max Biddulph, considers the potential conflict between young men's and adults' agendas and Mike Massaro from Edinburgh Brook looks at the pros and cons of mixed gender work. It's been a busy year for WWM so we've taken the opportunity this issue to fill you in on what we've been up to. One of our initiatives 'The Young Black Men's Advocacy Project' is explored here in more detail By Khalid Mair. More details of our other work will appear later in the year. Finally we have some more reviews form the ever-increasing mountain of publications about men! Neil Davidson and Tristan Wood Joint Editors |
